Started as a means to get fit but got hooked! Given me goals to reach and smash, as well as opportunity to travel round and out of the country. Met fantastic people along the way who have become life long friends.  My aim now is to continue pass on my skills to the next hungry potential student to enable them to reach their own goals, whether it be a black belt or just a better level of fitness.

Emma Leam 2nd Dan (Assistant coach)
I’m 38 and started with the club in 2004  (I think) I’m 2nd Dan Kickboxing and trained both Kickboxing and Karate for a while but concentrated on Kickboxing for the last few years. EMA and WUMA medal winner on numerous occasions including 2007 WUMA Ladies -55kg Full Contact European Champion. GMAA Fight night winner. WRS British Title contender. Soon to fight for WAKO British Title. Appeared on various other kickboxing shows.
Joined GMAA after training elsewhere and not getting the best from it so a friend suggested trying GMAA and since joining wouldn’t think of training anywhere else. I have never taken to normal gym fitness and wanted something quite challenging, I find not only does it keep me physically fit but it helps to clear the head too. Whilst I’ve been fighting competitively the training has pushed me to limits I didn’t even know I had myself and the coaches have always been supportive.  I’ve met many friends through the club so now not only is it there for my fitness but it’s a social thing also. It’s almost like my second family. As I’m close to my final fight my goals now are less on the competitive side but more in coaching the younger members and of course in keeping my fitness levels.
