Fight Night V “Firework Fury ”

The night started on time at 7pm with a girls bout, this set the tone for
the night as the fighting by both girls, Bridget Rodgers (Fudoshin Lincoln)
V Karen Bailey (Impact Sleaford),was excellent. As more fights passed, the
atmosphere rose. B J Mayfield from Fudoshin put on an excellent display to
beat Andy Craven from Primal Grimsby, though he had to as Andy impressed on
the last fight night. Sarah Barnsley (GMAA Grimsby) stopped Nicola Cordukes
(BCKA Lincoln) in the second round though Nicola had done well and had won
the first round. Next up was Danny Cooper (GMAA) and Jack Bollan (Fudoshin).
This fight involved everything, spectacular kicks, excellent hands and total
comitment from both fighters with Danny just shading it. Will Young (Impact) showed great skill along with Nick Bass (GMAA) to force a draw.

Taylor(Primal) had a good win over Mark Denford(GMAA) and Rachel Muress (LDB
Lincoln) had an excellent win over Caroline Garside(BCKA) as did Michelle
Barnes(Woodys Grimsby) over Danni Bourne (LDB). Things started to reach
fever pitch by the time the last fight came on, this was between Grimsby
Martial Arts John Lee and BCKA's Justin Laughton. The first round went to
Justin with the second going to John. The final round was very close with
Justin just shading it by 1 point. Apologies for any fights I havent mentioned as you all did brilliantly.
May I thank all the fighters, coaches and spectators who took part and
travelled to the event, Lincoln Black Dragons, BCKA Lincolnshire, Impact Gym
Sleaford, Fudoshin Lincoln, Woodys Gym Grimsby, Primal Gym Grimsby and the
fighters from Grimsby Martial Arts Academy along with all the helpers and people who made the night possible.
